SILENCE
Don Alberto has 60 and some years. He is deaf. He lives in a very old apartment inherited from an aunt with whom he lived a long time as a young man. He has a very special mood. He is obsessed with cleaning, he says that we should all take three baths a day and wash everything just after using it, as he does it. He also likes order although he refuses to discard the objects left by his aunt cause they remind him of her. He is the kind of person that talks you straight in the face and without shame, that is why he doesn't get along well with people, for him they are the ones who can't listen, that is why he prefers to spend the day home alone, reading and repairing the old domestic installations. "Outside is noisy and full of dirty and smelly people. Here I have all I need, I can eat, read and sleep, calmly, in silence"

Serie of the project "Viaje al Corazón de Bolivia" of the United Nations and newspaper Pagina Siete, which in a five month journey tried to capture the images and stories hidden around the most far away corners of Bolivia. Here the amazonic part.
BONIFAZ, KING AND SLAVE
It is said that during the hardest stage of slavery in Africa, Bonifaz, the prince of a tribe of Congo fell into the hands of human dealers and was sold as a slave in South America during the sixteenth century. This character of the black aristocracy ended up working as pawn on the farm of Mururata, a small town in the Yungas of Bolivia. There, Bonifaz was recognized by the other African slaves as their king, who managed to hide his identity and its lineage. Today, abolished all slavery and nearly 500 years later, Julio Bonifacio Pinedo, farmer, producer of coca leaf and humble family man like any other, is the current Afro-Bolivian King.
This is the royal family of Bonifaz, king of the slaves.

ROYAL ORURO
Marathonic tour at the majestic carnival of Oruro. An entire day, from 6am to 6pm. Outside, inside, deep inside, to the rhythm of drums and trombones. Probably the best day to be in such a picturesque city.

PRESTE
- That is how life is, you have to work for the tata and then dance. So all will be good!
- But how can you do to organize a preste? I would like to do it.
- You can't, only the respected families can. Plus you have to be Aymara and be an example to the others. You see, I have my car, my house, three small trucks, my business performs well, I even want to buy a building in Alonso street. It is going great to us, and they know it so they respect me. But for that you have to show, so everyone knows that we have money and we know how to spend it. And that we do not save it to ourselves but rather share it. So here with food, drinks and music, along with my compadres we all celebrate for our tata. That's the most important. For this is that we work. What is the use of money if not?
